What is a Chamber of Commerce?
It is a voluntary association of businessmen, professionals, and business corporations.
This is the legal spokesman of business and Industry, commerce and community life to the government. It harnesses the tremendous potential of the private enterprise system and enables its membership to accomplish collectively what no one could do individually. It is a non-partisan, non-sectarian and non-profit incorporated organization.

How does it work?
The program and policies of the Chamber are determined by its Board of Trustees, who are elected by its members. It also maintains a professional staff whose basic function is to organize and execute the Chamber’s programs and activities.

What does it do?
The Chamber represents and promotes the areas of economy, and encourages business and industrial investment, broadening the tax base and providing employment.  To business prospects and newcomers, it represents the community’s self-image. Some Chambers are increasingly involved in non-commercial areas, such as education, human relations and environmental concerns. These challenges have caused the Chambers to become a viable    force in seeking solutions to today’s social problems. The Chambers influence national and local legislation.

Who finances the Chamber costs of operation?
Since it is a voluntary organization all share a mutual desire to achieve a better community for all its citizens thru making Chamber membership a tangible investment in the present and future welfare of both the individual and their community.  Expenses are apportioned among its members, individuals and firms representing all types of business, industry, and profession.

The Chamber is the sales representative for its community and Chamber business – unceasingly promoting their products and services and  at the same time their watchdog – protecting their interest,  particularly in the political arena.
